Downloading videos from youtube.
ya,
Most of us download videos from youtube and other video servers when we feel like keeping a video.
and yes, i am using keepvid for long.
There are other options such as savetube , but i am using keepvid as it has support for a bunch of other video servers.
[yeah, some geeky guys take the video from the temporary internet files of the browser after allowing the video to buffer completely..and yeah, if you sort those files by size, the comparatively bigger files at the top are those video files.rename them as "filename.flv" and you get it!
but i don't use this method, as mostly, i download videos and watch them later and going to temporary internet files and doing all this is something not so 'easy going' ..]
oops..i am deviating from the topic.
i was going to tell that there is an easy way of using keepvid ..previously, i used to go to keepvid.com, paste the url and then click the download button.
Now, recently, i read about the drag button on keepvid website.I am going to share that here.
and to your info,i am using firefox web-browser.and i have the bookmarks tab turned on.
If you've not turned it on, you can do that by going to view>toolbar>bookmarks toolbar
okie.!
now, go to keepvid.com
and then on the top, you would see a button on the website, which you can drag to your bookmarks toolbar and you are done!..
i think, putting up a picture is a lot better to demonstrate than writing this heap and what is the use if i am not able to convey the point to you.
check this screenshot of my browser
Now, once you drag this button onto the bookmarks toolbar or the links toolbar, whatever you may call it...you would get a ''keepit!' link on the toolbar
and you happen to see a youtube video and if you feel like downloading it, simply click on that ''keepit!'' link. and you will be directed to the keepvid download page.
Here is another screenshot of how this thing works on a youtube video
visit the video url and then click on the button as marked in the screen capture.
and the coolest part is that it is applicable not only to youtube but also to a huge set of the popular video portals!
and a note :
while taking the screenshot that i've posted above , i am using windows XP service pack 2
Don't get confused by the taskbar that looks different from XP.I've put a third party visual style.
